WMC History

WMC was founded in 1981 when Roy and Charlene Kiser were commissioned, along with approximately 40 members from Mt. View Mennonite Church, to begin a new church.  The vision for the new church emphasized “community fellowship, Christian love toward all persons, close family ties, sharing in times of need and radical discipleship (following Christ’s way in daily living.)”
WMC’s first public worship service was held November 15, 1981 at Kate Collins School in Waynesboro with 187 persons in attendance.  A building featuring a geodesic dome was built in 1985 with the first service held March 30, 1986.
Our congregation consists of persons from many denominational backgrounds. We are quick to reach out to those who are hurting and walk with people through the difficult times in their lives.

Welcome to Waynesboro Mennonite Church!
